Our Responsible Investment Journey

At Presima, we believe that responsible investment can have an impact on long-term financial returns. Consequently, we have been committed to incorporating ESG factors in our investment solutions since 2006. The below timeline highlights key elements along our ESG integration journey.

2006

Integrated Factors Into Financial Analysis

Fundamental ESG factors are embedded in our proprietary valuation model providing a better cost of equity profile.

2009

Became UN PRI Signatory 

We made a commitment to ESG practices and made them an integral part of our corporate policy.

2015

Augmented ESG Coverage 

We integrated independent third-party ESG data into the valuations of securities in our investment universe alongside more conventional financial indicators to capture a holistic view of a potential investment’s risk profile.

2019

Managing ESG Strategy

Leveraging our knowledge of ESG factors to manage ESG-focused strategy for our clients.

2020

Presima supports the Paris Agreement

The Paris Agreement aims to limit global warming. Aligned with this goal, we endorsed the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations and published our first TCFD report, demonstrating our commitment to climate risk management.

2021

Expanding our ESG expertise

Leveraging ESG factors across additional asset classes to enhance client strategies.

2024

Presima’s Parent Company Becomes UN PRI Signatory

Slate Asset Management L.P. (Slate) publicly committed to incorporating ESG factors into its investment decision making and ownership practices. Presima, a wholly owned subsidiary of Slate, has been a UN PRI signatory since 2009. As of 2024, Presima is covered under Slate’s signatory status.

Responsible Investment

Presima has been a long-time signatory of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and is now covered under Slate’s signatory status. We have a Responsible Investment Policy and Procedure that focus on Presima’s management of portfolios of publicly listed securities and describe how we incorporate ESG considerations in our investment process for all assets under management. We also adhere to the vision, values and commitments of the Slate ESG Policy. This policy should be read together with the Slate ESG Policy.

Climate-Related Disclosures

Presima publicly supports the Paris Agreement since 2020. We believe that disclosures related to climate-related risks can enhance transparency and accountability.

The ISSB has adopted the TCFD framework, integrating it into its global sustainability disclosure standards.

Proxy Voting

We’ve established processes and oversight to meet our fiduciary responsibility to vote proxies in our clients’ long-term best interests. We engage with companies when our proxy advisor’s recommendations differ from management’s, allowing us to share our perspective, gain insight into their rationale, and promote more informed decision-making.
